Biography

Ja Hon came to the U.S. from South Korea at 15 without knowing any English. Through help from teachers, family, community, internships, entrepreneurship, and self-learning, he built a path through computer science, software engineering, AI, and competitive problem-solving. His background in e-sports, engineering, and entrepreneurship shaped his ability to adapt under uncertainty.

For his hobby, Jae Lim was a professional Warcraft 3 E-Sports athlete who was ranked #1 in both USA servers. His signature move was his mountain king hero M-surround. He received a sponsorship from AMD. He also found a paid internship opportunity and started other online entrepreneurship activities to pay out the rest of the college tuition required to graduate from the university

His experience overcoming significant personal and economic challenges helped shape his entrepreneurial mindset.

His competitiveness and ability to adapt himself into uncomfortable environments developed him a unique intuition to learn and adapt himself to solve the problem with uncertainty or insufficient information. For example, when he was 7, he defeated challenging Nintendo role playing games like dragon quest or final fantasy without knowing any Japanese or understanding of any dialogs in the game. He defeated the game purely with his trial/error approach and intrinsic understanding of reactions.
